Oat Milk Matcha Agave Latte

Tea and dessert, all rolled into one.

If you’re looking for a warm, sweet, low GI, energizing treat (which can also be a good source of calcium, if you use fortified oat milk), then this is the perfect afternoon tea for you.

Here’s a basic description of the process:

1) Take 2 cups of oat milk (although any sort of milk would do–hazelnut, or almond milk might be especially good), and get it simmering. If you’re a cheap-o like me, you can also substitute water for about 1/4 C of the milk.
2) Take about 1 1/2 tsp matcha powder, and mix it with a few teaspoons of warm water, to make some green-tea-goo.
3) Whisk the green-tea-goo into the simmering oatmilk, and then add 3 tsp of agave nectar. (If you use some other sort of sweetener, you may want more).

That will give you 2 small cups of dessert tea. Don’t forget to serve it with a speculoos cookie!
